Privacy Policy

Last updated July 2026

MazoRent collects personal data because UAE law requires a verified driver behind the wheel of a rental vehicle. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who sees it.

1. What we collect

Account details: name, email address, mobile number.

Identity documents: driving licence, Emirates ID or passport and visa page where applicable. These are collected solely to satisfy the legal requirement to verify a driver and to allow the supplier to complete the rental agreement.

Booking and payment records, including the vehicle, dates, amounts and card metadata. MazoRent does not store full card numbers — these are held by our payment processor.

Handover records, including condition photographs and odometer readings.

2. Who we share it with

The supplier fulfilling your booking receives your name, contact number, licence details and verification status. They do not receive your payment details.

Our payment processor receives the data needed to take payment.

Government authorities where required by UAE law, including in relation to traffic offences.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.

3. How long we keep it

Booking and financial records are retained for the period required by UAE tax and commercial law.

Identity documents are retained while your account is active and for a limited period afterwards to support any fine, toll or damage claim that arrives after the rental ends.

4. Your rights

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account.

Deletion requests are honoured except where we are legally required to retain records, or where an open booking, fine or dispute is outstanding.

Draft — not yet legal advice

This document is a working draft written against common UAE practice. It must be reviewed by a UAE-qualified lawyer before MazoRent accepts a real booking. The commercial terms inside it — cancellation tiers, deposit handling, liability split — are already implemented in the platform, so any change here has to be mirrored in the code.
